Here’s some free political advice for Roy Moore- give up. Bow out gracefully. His humiliating loss to Doug Jones was bad enough; his reputation is being absolutely shredded, however, by his refusal to concede.
The White House has no illusions about the Alabama Senate race. Moore lost and Jones won. Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders didn’t mince words Thursday when questioned about the matter.
“I think the President’s position is pretty clear, in his outreach to Doug Jones directly, he called and they spoke yesterday,” Sanders said.
“I think the numbers reflect that, and I think the President’s outreach shows that,” she added, admitting that Moore had lost fair and square.
Moore lost because he couldn’t defeat the onslaught of sexual abuse allegations launched at him in November. A string of women claiming that he chased after them when they were underage is bound to derail anyone’s campaign.
If he actually cared about the country, Moore would have dropped out of the race. Any other Republican would have destroyed Jones. We’re talking about Alabama, not California. Alabama is one of the most predictably red states in the nation.
“Today we no longer recognize the universal truth that God is the author of our life and liberty, abortion, sodomy and materialism have taken the place of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” Moore complained the day after his loss.
“In this race we have not received the final count to include military and provision ballots… This has been a very close race and we are waiting for certification by the secretary of state.”
The race wasn’t that close. Jones is going to Alabama’s next Senator, whether Moore chooses to concede or not. Since it can’t be avoided, he may as well accept it.
Roy Moore won’t concede; says will wait on God to speak. God wasn’t registered to vote in AL but the ppl who voted did speak and it wasn’t close enough for recount. In elections everyone does NOT get a trophy. I know first hand but it’s best to exit with class.
