With polls in Alabama showing Moore with a commanding lead in the December 12 Senate election, the accused sexual assaulter is boldly laying out his plans for his days as a senator. Moore has seen his support from the GOP evaporate, as no one in the party’s given him the benefit of the doubt in light of the various allegations against him.
However, President Trump has refused to denounce Moore, offering up his support throughout the scandal. As a result of Trump’s steadfastness, Moore has some kind words for the president.
As reported at the New York Post, Moore tweeted out his thanks to Trump on Monday, saying that should he win election, he’ll be an ally in the president’s plan to “drain the swamp.”
“Thankful for President Trump’s support. The America First agenda will #MAGA. Can’t wait to help him #DrainTheSwamp. #ALSEN,” Moore wrote.
Earlier Monday morning, Trump tweeted out that Congress was in dire need of a man like Moore, saying that an ally like him was needed if people wanted to see the president’s America First agenda come to fruition.
“Democrats refusal to give even one vote for massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama. We need his vote on stopping crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall, Military, Pro Life, V.A., Judges 2nd Amendment and more. No to Jones, a Pelosi/Schumer Puppet!” he tweeted just after 6 a.m.
Trump later added: “Putting Pelosi/Schumer Liberal Puppet Jones into office in Alabama would hurt our great Republican Agenda of low on taxes, tough on crime, strong on military and borders…& so much more. Look at your 401-k’s since Election. Highest Stock Market EVER! Jobs are roaring back!”
Despite the media’s war on Moore, Trump has refused to buckle and throw him under the bus like so many of his Republican counterparts. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell being one of the primary turncoats, calling on Moore to drop out as soon as the accusations started rolling in.
However, the media’s biased coverage and GOP’s abandonment hasn’t diminished Moore’s support. The latest polls show he has a 6-point lead, despite so many forces opposing his campaign. Trump is right, the Senate could use a man like Moore, one that can be counted on to support conservative legislation. It’s no wonder so many clowns in the GOP are determined to see him fail, as they’d rather hand the seat over to a leftist than see a Trump and conservative ally elected.
