America’s top athletes are banding together against President Trump. NASCAR royalty Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the latest celebrity to denounce the White House. Earnhardt publicly threw his support behind the national anthem protesters roiling NFL games.
Earnhardt’s bluntness is unusual. The NFL and the NBA seem to be united against the president, but NASCAR owners have expressed a different attitude. NASCAR races haven’t been infected by protesters yet.
Whatever you want to say about Trump, the American flag and the national anthem stands for America. Disrespecting the anthem is disrespecting America, not Trump.

“Get you a ride on a Greyhound bus when the national anthem is over,” NASCAR team owner Richard Childress said when asked if he would support drivers who refused to stand for the anthem.
“I told them anyone who works for me should respect the country we live in. So many people gave their lives for it. This is America.”
So proud of NASCAR and its supporters and fans. They won't put up with disrespecting our Country or our Flag – they said it loud and clear!

Over 200 NFL players protested on Sunday. Many took a knee or linked arms while the anthem was performed, others didn’t bother to leave the locker room. Football hasn’t always been political, but it clearly is now.
Democrats like to inject race into every issue, so a lot of leftists have complained that Trump’s war with athletes is racially motivated.
“I never said anything about race,” Trump responded, “[t]his has nothing to do with race or anything else. This has to do with respect for our country and respect for our flag.”
