Kelley Paul, Rand’s wife, wants you to know that he’s still hurting. The public’s attention is riveted on Washington’s sexual predators, and coverage of the Senator’s attack was buried. A crazed doctor viciously assaulted Rand outside of his home and it barely registered on the national radar.
Liberals aren’t above kicking someone when they’re down, as the Rands learned to their dismay. Media pundits looked like they were trying to choke back their laughter when they broke the story while print outlets published cheeky, insulting headlines.
“The average person takes 20,000 breaths a day. Since November 3, my husband, Rand Paul, has not taken a single one without pain,” Kelley wrote in a piece published to CNN.
She went on to describe her husband’s bravery in returning to work so soon after his injuries were inflicted.
“This was not a ‘scuffle,’ a ‘fight’ or an ‘altercation,’ as many in the media falsely describe it. It was a deliberate, blindside attack. The impact left Rand with six broken ribs, three displaced, pleural effusion and now pneumonia. This has been a terrible experience,” she continued.
Rand was attacked by his next-door neighbor, anesthesiologist Rene Boucher. The media reported that the assault sprang from a property dispute, a charge that the Rands vehemently deny.
“The only ‘dispute’ existed solely in the attacker’s troubled mind, until, on a beautiful autumn day, he ran down the hill on our property and slammed his body into Rand’s lower back,” Kelley wrote.
The extent of Rand’s injuries while likely confine his motions for a long time.
