There has been a lot of controversy this week about the press and whether they are doing their jobs correctly. Much of this began when President Trump called out the news media in a press conference.
He followed that up with this tweet.
The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 17, 2017
Which of course sent every(supposedly unbiased and impartial)newscaster in the country into a complete anti-Trump tailspin.
Meet The Press anchor, Chuck Todd is one such outraged newsman, and he got the chance to ask Sen. John McCain about his views on the President’s Tweet. Sen. McCain, decided it would be OK to really stab his President in the back at this point and said “this is how dictators get started.”
May I just point out, usually, if you say something nasty about a dictator, you get your head chopped off. While Sen. McCain will get to keep his head, it’s not clear if he plans to start using it again, or where he plans to keep it.
Sen. Rand Paul, on the other hand, took to the news to set the record straight, and say what every educated American was thinking; President Trump is trying to get the media to be impartial, not to shut them down.
Sen. Rand Paul: "I haven't seen any legislation coming forward that wants to limit the press. I see Pres. Trump expressing his opinion." pic.twitter.com/ZqXLwdl1gP
