Vice President Mike Pence shot down rumors Monday that the president had an affair with a notorious pornstar. He told reporters that “not going to comment on the latest baseless allegations against the president.”
Pornstar Stormy Daniels claims that she and President Trump had torrid affair back in 2006. In a failed attempt to convince her to keep her mouth shut, Trump’s legal team allegedly promised to pay her six-figures.
It’s not Trump’s first sexual scandal, and it probably won’t be his last. The difference between the president and the average politician accused of being a scumbag is that the president is innocent. Trump doesn’t need to humble himself in front of anyone because he hasn’t created any victims. Just opportunists.
According to CBS News, “Daniels’ real name is Stephanie Clifford. Mr. Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, has denied there was any relationship. He gave the Journal a statement from ‘Stormy Daniels’ denying receiving ‘hush money’… a tabloid magazine held back from publishing her 2011 account of the alleged affair after Cohen threatened to sue.”
Daniels has been peddling her story for years and Trump has denied it from the start. Men like former Sen. Al Franken were taken down because they were guilty, their accusers weren’t exaggerating or making things up.
Democrats want Daniels to disrupt the administration, but no one really cares about her story. She herself has denied receiving hush money before, and the tale of their illicit encounter is too bare-bones to interest people. It’s 2018, people no longer care if the president has had dalliances in the past.
Pence quickly tried to get back on track after denying the Daniels rumors. He turned the subject to the government shutdown.
“The Schumer shutdown failed. The government is reopening, Congress can get back to work advancing the president’s agenda,” Pence said.
