President Trump is once again making waves with his Twitter activity. This time he’s hitting both of his favorite (and the left’s least favorite) subjects at once; Russia and the mainstream media.
Maria Bartiromo asked former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) to talk about if he believes the President is correct in his assertions about the media and the former administration.
You can watch the whole interview here, but this clip raises some interesting questions:

It seems like no one is doubting that there is a Russian connection, or that there are leaks to the media, the questions is, who is Russia colluding with, and who is leaking the information? These are both issues that just won’t go away, and it looks like the truth will eventually come out. The left wants desperately to pin it on President Trump and his administration, but that doesn’t seem to be where the evidence is pointing, according to Gingrich.
Now the burning question among those responsible has to be: how bad will it be when they’re caught? Apparently, the information leaks to the media alone constitute a felony, and that’s not even addressing the Russian connection. Speaking of Russia, every time someone in the media kicks over a rock, a Russian connection does come crawling out, but most of them are connected to former Obama and Clinton associates.
Many have criticized Micheal Flynn for possibly getting immunity before he talks about the Russian issue, but both President Trump and Gingrich have said they support that, since Democrats and the media are searching so fervently for a scapegoat. Looking for immunity, in this case doesn’t have to mean he’s guilty, it just means that he’s been burned once and he doesn’t intend to let them finish torching his reputation just to make an example of him.
According to Gingrich, the media is in a frenzy, but it’s not particularly about Russia:
“They’re watching a President that’s not afraid to take them on and it increases [their] panic”
