Nancy Pelosi trotted out her hypocritical everyman routine in Phoenix Tuesday only to be called out by a heckler.
Pelosi, the seventh richest person in Congress, railed against President Trump’s tax cuts.
“These issues about the tax cuts and then the cuts to initiatives that help people, that’s part of the budget. The national budget should be a statement of our national values, what is important to us as a nation,” the House Minority Leader ranted.
“So this isn’t about Democrats or Republicans. This is about the United States of America and our children’s future.”
Lofty words for a woman who’s been so ineffectual her own party is sick of her.
According to reports Pelosi and her husband prepaid their property taxes so they could take advantage of a hefty tax break eliminated in President Trump’s tax policy.
Pelosi is the poster woman for wealthy America, yet she likes to speak as though she’s a regular American. Not only is she fabulously wealthy, she’s one of the most senior members of Congress.
“It can’t possibly be a statement of values for us to talk about, as Martin Luther King said, … ‘God never intended for one group of people to live in superfluous inordinate wealth while others live in abject deadly poverty,’” Pelosi raved.
“So these are kitchen table issues for most of America’s families. Most people are not in deadly poverty, but some are. But most people have to struggle to …”
At that moment a heckler jumped in.
“How much are you worth, Nancy?” she screeched.
Pelosi didn’t miss a beat.
“No, we’re not talking about that… I’m a mother of five, I can speak louder than anybody,” she fired back, raising her voice to drown out the heckler.
Pelosi has an estimated net worth of $100,643,52.
