Mitt Romney has dragged himself out of whatever political hole he was hiding in an attempt to thrust himself back into the spotlight. Experts say that Romney is preparing for a Utah Senate run. He’s already figured out his campaign strategy-denigrate President Trump.
Romney attacked Trump on Twitter Monday.
“The poverty of an aspiring immigrant’s nation of origin is as irrelevant as their race. The sentiment attributed to POTUS is inconsistent w/ America’s history and antithetical to American values. May our memory of Dr. King buoy our hope for unity, greatness, & ‘charity for all,'” he tweeted.
President Trump is still feeling the heat from his comments regarding immigration. Romney was known for morphing his views to suit whoever stood in front of him at the time, so it’s not surprising that he’s pitted himself against Trump. Romney must be “woke.
“Given (Romney’s) favorite son status in Utah, it’s about as certain as you could be — if you wanted to put odds on it — it would be an extraordinarily high probability of victory,” said Quin Monson, a pollster, when asked about Romney’s chances in the upcoming Senate race.
Anti-Trump feelings are now something that liberals bond over. Romney, who was never much of a conservative to begin with, should oppose the opposition.
“Trump scares me. He thinks he’s still on ‘The Apprentice.’ The guy just has no scruples,” said Tina Wright, a Utah native. “It’s embarrassing to me. It’s embarrassing to our country. I think other foreign countries are looking at us, saying ‘What happened there?'”
What happened here indeed.
The poverty of an aspiring immigrant’s nation of origin is as irrelevant as their race. The sentiment attributed to POTUS is inconsistent w/ America’s history and antithetical to American values. May our memory of Dr. King buoy our hope for unity, greatness, & “charity for all.”
