First lady Melania Trump, through no fault of her own, has caused many to doubt that she is first lady material. It just so happened that this immigrant and perfect picture of the American dream came on the heels of the irrationally adored Michelle Obama. So, instead of focusing on the good that she is doing, many want to criticize.
That was the case when she visited HomeSafe, a group home for victims of domestic violence in Florida.
According to The Blaze:
“On Friday, first lady Melania Trump made an unannounced visit to a group home for victims of domestic violence and abuse to meet with a small group of teenage girls.
‘This is a day that the girls will never forget,” Matthew Ladika, who runs HomeSafe, told the Post. “It was extra special and touching.’
The girls, all between the ages of 12-17, were removed from their homes via court orders and placed in HomeSafe’s residential program, according to the Post. The group home currently houses seven girls and 40 boys from the South Florida area.”

Of course, I cannot guarantee you that Melania Trump came up with the idea for the visit on her own and that she was 100% filled with joy and compassion the whole time. I can, however, point to her past compassion and generous spirit and what she said about the visit.

Apparently, though, some will never be satisfied with what she does, and how she does it.
Via The Blaze:
“The visit, which went widely unreported, caught the attention of shoe news website Footwear News. The website identified and reported on Trump’s $1,150 shoes then lashed out at her.
‘No doubt the children will weigh heavily on her mind on Easter as she enjoys a holiday meal and restful time amid the terra-cotta-roofed Mar-a-Lago, which boasts sweeping oceanfront views nearly 11 miles away,’ the publication wrote.
The news website’s implication, of course, is that Trump’s visit to the group home was shallow because she lives a life of luxury. Just one question though: Would they have said the same thing about Michelle Obama?”
Yeah, that seems fair.
