Megyn Kelly and Donald Trump are on the same side for once. Like the president, Kelly’s ready to sink her claws into journalist Michael Wolff. A few months ago Wolff trashed Kelly’s career in a piece for Newsweek.
Wolff’s social clout has shot up considerably since he bad-mouthed Kelly. His latest book, a juicy White House tell-all centering on the Trump family, is being trumpeted as gospel by the left.
Kelly’s so angry that she refused to host Wolff on her show. He’s one of the most talked about men in politics right now but her fragile ego wouldn’t allow her to go through with the interview.
“There is at any given time in the television news business invariably one person more mistrusted and reviled by all the other mistrusted and reviled people in the business,” Wolff wrote about Kelly after she was hired by NBC.
“At Fox, for star colleagues down to makeup artists and, seemingly, by common agreement throughout the television news business, Megyn Kelly is the era’s most hardcore Eve Harrington case — soulless, heartless, shameless, avaricious, etc.”
Biting words, but Kelly’s supposed to be a pro. Scoring an interview with Wolff probably would have given her show a much-needed ratings boost.
“Wolff was OK with doing her show, but Megyn said absolutely not,” an insider source revealed to Page Six.
Kelly’s irritation is less reasonable than Trump’s. Wolff crafted an elaborate mishmash of lies and exaggerations intended to humiliate the president. The media is covering Wolff’s lies rather than Trump’s agenda.
