For decades, conspiracy theories have swirled about the existence of a Hollywood pedophile ring. Predictably, such a nation has immediately been dismissed as just that–a conspiracy theory. A tactic often used by those hiding nefarious secrets is to label claims they don’t like as such, as it immediately gets them dismissed and makes those that believe they could be true look like kooks.
The thing is, many things once labeled conspiracy theories have turned out to be true. Especially as of late. Whether it be Obama targeting conservatives with the IRS or mass government surveillance, these things were once treated as implausible. And now, thanks to the Weinstein scandal, where the curtain hiding all of Hollywood’s sordid secrets is finally being pulled back, and we’re finding out that what was once treated as a conspiracy is looking more accurate by the day.
As reported at Breitbart, in response to actor Corey Feldman’s claims that he was molested when he was a child actor and that there is a broader network of pedophiles preying on young actors, the Los Angeles Police Department has officially begun investigating.
“Corey Feldman filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department. There is no further information at this time, and his report is being investigated,” an LAPD spokesperson said.
Feldman was a star child actor in the 1980s, as were many of his friends. He has since claimed that many of them were victims of abuse and that that actions taken against them were treated as normal. After years of claims, however, he recently started naming names.
Last year, Feldman revealed the “molestations” he suffered that came “from several hands” and confessed that his best friend and fellow former child star Corey Haim — who died of a drug overdose at age 38 in 2010 after years of addiction — suffered “direct rape … when he was 11.”
On Monday Feldman tweeted that he’d met with the LAPD’s Special Division.
“OFFICIALLY THE 1ST FORMAL REPORT EVER TAKEN ON ANY OF MY CASES, AS SBPD NEVER FOLLOWED UP BACK IN 1993, & HAS NO RECORD OF MY COMPLAINTS,” wrote Feldman. “THE LAPD WILL BEGIN AN OFFICIAL INVESTIGATION NOW! THINGS R HEATING UP, IM PRAYING 4 SAFETY! PLEASE HELP.”
The LAPD might have refused to look into the case had he gone to them earlier this year, but with the Weinstein ordeal and all the sexual allegations against celebrities since, they know have no choice but to investigate.
It’s about time the creeps in Hollywood were exposed, as it’s been an open secret that these kinds of things are prevalent throughout the industry. All of the abusers deserve to have their names dragged through the mud and to rot in jail, which is exactly what is and should happen to folks like Weinstein.
