Kathy Griffin’s career is in the toilet, and she thinks she knows why. Sexism!
“When you’re a woman, you get one f—up and it’s over. When you’re a guy, you get chance after chance after chance,” Griffin whined to the Hollywood Reporter.
Has she been paying attention to the #MeToo scandal rocking Hollywood? Powerful men are being brought to their knees by the mere suggestion of sexual impropriety.
Griffin’s career is floundering is because of the offensive, anti-Trump photo she posed for. Instead of venting her spleen on a blog like a reasonable person, Griffin shared a picture of herself holding an effigy of Donald Trump’s decapitated head.
Is it still a joke if no one laughs? Griffin’s antics were excoriated by the public, interest in her comedy plummeted.
“I don’t blame the theater owners,” Griffin said. “These are theaters that are normally playing Mamma Mia! or Stomp, and all of a sudden they’re getting calls saying they’re going to ‘shoot her in the c— live onstage.’ That was the most common threat. And that they were going to ‘cut my head off and stuff it up my c—.’
She pretended to be sorry and issued a thin apology at first, but quickly grew defiant.
“I didn’t commit a crime… I didn’t rape anybody. I didn’t assault anybody. I didn’t get a DUI. I mean, my God, there are celebrities that fucking kill people” Griffin said.
Hollywood liberals are so out of touch it’s as though they don’t live in America, but in a special, rarefied world where everyone is coddled and ego is king. Griffin truly doesn’t understand why threatening the president of the U.S. was a bad idea.
She insists that she’s still relevant, that her limp career will bounce back.
“The minute I do something that makes money, they will all love me again. When I’m dead, I’ll be a legend. But not now.”
