Just In: Trump Gets Great News From Federal Judge

November 29, 2017 by Caleb Marius

Trump’s presidency thus far has been severely hampered by the radical left-wing court system. It’s a problem that’s plagued conservatives for years, the reality that the change folks voted for is often overturned or stymied by a single corrupt judge.

Trump’s common sense executive orders on immigration are a prime example of how leftists have weaponized the courts to prevent any kind of conservative legislation from hitting the books. However, while the president’s had terrible luck with the courts this year, he just got some fantastic news from one of his very own appointees.

As reported at the New York Post, a federal judge has ruled in favor of President Trump in his effort to appoint the acting head of nation’s top financial watchdog agency, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Tuesday afternoon, Trump appointee Judge Timothy Kelly, declined to stop on an emergency basis the president from putting in place Mick Mulvaney, currently the White House’s budget director. The CFPB’s deputy director, Leandra English, attempted to block Trump’s appointment to the agency, but her efforts have been in vain, as she just got herself a new boss.

English had requested that Mulvaney be prevented from becoming the new head of the bureau via an emergency restraining order. It was a rather bold move to defy the president, but it seems English wanted to score some points with the Left while she had the opportunity to look “strong.”

The entire reason for this ordeal stems from the sudden resignation of the CFPB’s prior director, Richard Cordray, who then appointed English as his successor on his way out.

This strange passing of succession led to both Mulvaney and English showing up at the CFPB headquarters Monday, each believing they were the rightful director. This predictably resulted in chaos and confusion, and the White House immediately looked to the courts to resolve the issue. Rightfully, Kelly decided to keep his hands off and allow the Trump administration to exercise its right of appointment.

“The Administration applauds the court’s decision, which provides further support for the president’s rightful authority to designate Director Mulvaney as Acting Director of the CFPB,” spokesman Raj Shah said.

“It’s time for the Democrats to stop enabling this brazen political stunt by a rogue employee and allow Acting Director Mulvaney to continue the bureau’s smooth transition into an agency that truly serves to help consumers.”

Cordray and English’s attempted coup was audacious, but it failed spectacularly. It’s absurd for them to act like Trump is abusing his power when all he tried to do was make a standard appointment. The CFPB is an important agency, and now that it’s no longer under the Left’s control, maybe it’ll start doing some and actually protect consumers as its name implies.
