John Conyers admitted defeat Tuesday. The force of the allegations against him was too strong to be withstood. The longest-serving representative in Congress is retiring.
It’s the same old story. Slimy pervert wriggles his way into power and begins to prey on the women around him. Conyers’ story is particularly gross, however, because one of his accusers claims that he fondled her in church.
“I am retiring today. And I want everyone to know how much I appreciate the support, the incredible undiminished support I’ve received across the years,” Conyers told radio host Mildred Gaddis.
“My legacy can’t be compromised or diminished in any way by what we’re going through now… This too shall pass.”
He still won’t admit that he did anything wrong. One of his victims was paid to keep her silence, yet to hear Conyers tell it he’s never been anything other than a fine, upstanding gentleman.
“Whatever they are, they are not accurate or they’re not true and I think that they’re something that I can’t explain where they came from,” he said of the accusations.
“I want you to know that my legacy will continue through my children. I have a great family here and especially in my oldest boy, John Conyers III who incidentally I endorsed to replace me in my seat in Congress.”
Typical politician. His career just exploded and he’s still trying to sneak in an endorsement for his son.
Conyers might not be the only Democrat chased out of office this year. His resignation will provide fuel for those who Sen. Al Franken to remove himself as well.
“’But we hope that you will pray for the congressman’s good health and we hope and we hope that you will also understand that there is a bitter double-edged sword to those that would accuse especially…” a Conyers family spokesman said.
