A CNN reporter was humiliated yesterday during a live interview. The fake news purveyor was attempting to capitalize on the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.
Correspondent Rosa Flores was questioning people inside a hurricane shelter when she stumbled upon a wet, shivering woman huddling with her kids. Flores immediately launched into an interview.
The woman, identified only as Danielle, was helpless. She had spent an agonizing 36 hours waiting to be rescued and now that she was finally at the shelter she had to deal with cameras being thrust into her face.
“We walked through four feet of water to go get them food on the first day. Yeah, that’s a lot of s***,” she moaned.
“But y’all sitting here, y’all trying to interview people during their worst times. That’s not the smartest thing to do. Like people are really breaking down and y’all sitting here with cameras and microphones trying to ask us what the f*** is wrong with us.”
Mainstream media pundits make a living capitalizing on people’s pain. Interview Hurricane Harvey victims if you want, but don’t pressure frightened people into appearing on air. Danielle was clearly distraught. Dragging her and her children onto live TV was cruel.
“And you’re really trying to understand with the microphone still in my face with me shivering cold with my kids wet and you still putting a microphone in my face.”
After Danielle’s outburst Flores stood foolishly for a moment until the camera cut to Jim Acosta in the studio.
“Rosa Flores, it sounds like you’ve got a very upset family there. We’re going to take a break from that and we’ll get back to you later on,” Acosta said.
