Hillary Clinton’s empire is on the verge of collapsing. For decades the Clinton family has been using their political clout to score special favors and meaty donations to their foundation. The rise of Donald Trump proved to be too much for them to handle. Their schemes are falling apart and Hillary might be facing jail time.
Don’t expect her to throw in the towel just yet, though. Clinton is a consummate professional. If one tactic doesn’t work, she has ten more up her sleeves ready to try out. Her latest defense is that prosecuting her would somehow prove that the government is “authoritarian.”
She whined:
“If they send a signal that we’re going to be like some dictatorship, like some authoritarian regime, where political opponents are going to be unfairly, fraudulently investigated, that rips at the fabric of the contract we have, that we can trust our justice system … It will be incredibly demoralizing to people who have served at the Justice Department, under both Republicans and Democrats, because they know better. But it will also send a terrible signal to our country and the world that somehow we are giving up on the kind of values that we used to live by and we used to promote worldwide.”
She wants you to believe that going after her would be a bad thing for the country instead of one of the best moves that the Trump administration could possibly make.
It’s weak defense. The Clintons aren’t quite as sharp as they used to be.
