This is getting ridiculous.
An Ohio high schooler was suspended because he DIDN’T participate in Wednesday’s national student walkout. Instead of joining the liberals frothing in the street for gun control, he stayed in class.
Hilliard Davidson High School senior Jacob Shoemaker had no interest in participating in the massive anti-gun protest. He didn’t throw his opinion in other students’ faces, he didn’t give interviews to the press about his “bravery.”
Yet this was the student that school officials choose to punish. He was slapped with a suspension because he refused to leave study hall. He thought for himself, refused to cave to peer pressure, and showed a commitment to his education.
So why did he get in trouble? The school district claims that it was for “security concerns.” Students aren’t permitted to be in the building unsupervised and all of the school’s teachers were out protesting while Shoemake just wanted to go to class.
“Student refused to follow instructions after being warned repeatedly by several administrators,” the letter said. “Student not permitted on school property.”
Liberals are suffering from mass PTSD. They haven’t recovered from the slaughter they experienced at the voting booths during the last presidential election. It’s one thing to promote gun control, it’s quite another to punish students because they won’t participate in the latest fad protest. The party has gone mad.
The student walkout was organized in response to the Parkland, Florida high school shooting that killed 17 people. Students and activists are demanding that Congress adopt gun control measures.
That’s what the walkout was supposed to be about. In reality, it was media circus where a lot of fine words were uttered but nothing changed. Students marching toward Capitol Hill makes for a great Instagram pic but that’s not the way policy is decided.
