Well, that surprised no one. Makeup giant L’Oreal fired its first transgender model within a few days of hiring her. The “model” used her newfound fame to go on racist diatribe directed at all white people. Classy.
Munroe Bergdorf, who was born male but now identifies as a woman, was set to catapult her career. Working for L’Oreal is a model’s dream job, coming with unbelievable exposure and a hefty paycheck. Considering how her transgender story would have been liberal catnip, Bergdorf was on her way to achieving real fame.
Until she ruined it. She wrote such vile, racist nonsense that L’Oreal canned her immediately.
Here’s Bergdorf’s screed:
“I believe that society is built on the foundation of colonialism and slavery… I’m not saying that all white people are guilty of it [racism] but all white people benefit from racism [through] white privilege,” Bergdorf said defiantly after she lost her job.
“If you’re not actually dismantling racism, if you’re not going to pull people up from the bottom of the pyramid to the top then you are participating and benefiting from racism.”
And L’Oreal’s response:
L’Oréal champions diversity. Comments by Munroe Bergdorf are at odds with our values and so we have decided to end our partnership with her.

What, exactly, does “dismantling racism” look like? Perhaps an ever better question is why does Bergdorf believes that her alienating rants are accomplishing anything?
In her own words… "all white people benefit from racism" @MunroeBergdorf stands by comments that led her to be dropped by @Loreal pic.twitter.com/mhTN0RbFxc

Her original controversial post reads:
“Honestly I don’t have energy to talk about the racial violence of white people any more. Yes ALL white people… Come see me when you realise that racism isn’t learned, it’s inherited and consciously or unconsciously passed down through privilege.
“Once white people begin to admit that their race is the most violent and oppressive force of nature on Earth… then we can talk. Until then stay acting shocked about how the world continues to stay fucked at the hands of your ancestors and your heads that remain buried in the sand with hands over your ears.”
This is what American culture has become, granting audiences to racist transgender people with political agendas.
