Conservatives are well aware that when it comes to leftists, double standards and hypocrisy abound. The Left loves to bash conservatives over a litany of behaviors and issues, while simultaneously exonerating themselves from having to abide by the standards they impose on everyone else.
The sexual harassment scandals exploding all over the country are a prime example of this behavior. Numerous devout leftists, who’ve criticized Trump and conservatives supposed hatred and mistreatment of women, have been found out to be serial abusers themselves. And while such accusations cause liberals to call for conservatives’ heads immediately, when it comes to their team, their tune conveniently changes and suddenly the accusers’ claims aren’t taken as Gospel truth.
The most disgusting example of hypocrisy thus far is the Left’s reaction to the disgraced groper Al Franken. Despite allegations backed by evidence, his comrades are sticking with him, and on Monday, Franken made it clear he has no intention to give up his place in Congress.
As reported at the New York Post, Senator Al Franken said Monday that “you have to respect women’s experience” after denying his victim’s version of events in which he groped her and forced her to kiss him.
He also “apologized” to other women who’ve accused him of sexual misconduct, saying he was “tremendously sorry” and that he needed to be “careful and more sensitive” to make sure it doesn’t happen again. We all know that when it comes to non-liberals, they would never be given an opportunity to make sure it never happened again, as their head would be rolling and career destroyed.
Rather than step down like he’s called on numerous other conservative politicians to do for their sexual harassment and other supposed crimes, Franken is going to carry on like nothing happened, as he said he’s intent on earning back people’s trust and wants to “learn from my mistakes.”
On top of Leeann Tweeden’s claims he forcibly kissed and groped her, three women have claimed Franken has groped their buttocks while taking photos with him. While this is usually enough to bring about condemnation and possibly expulsion from Congress, Democrats have been very careful not to attack Franken or call for any serious consequences.
Unlike the situation with Roy Moore in Alabama, where he’s been labeled as guilty from day one and told to quit the race, Franken is getting the benefit of the doubt. This is par for the course when it comes to how leftists respond to their comrades’ crimes. A shrug of the shoulders, a little faux outrage, then move on and act like it never happened.
More important than abiding by the rules and “values” they shove down everyone’s throats is maintaining power, and Franken’s seat is more important to them than staying consistent with their narrative on the issue of women and sexual harassment.
