Meghan McCain is leaving Fox News. The announcement comes less than two months after her father, Sen. John McCain was diagnosed with brain cancer.
“I’m leaving to focus on other things,” Meghan tweeted on Friday. She’s been employed by Fox News since 2015.
Sen. McCain has returned to the Senate, although it’s believed that he has a very aggressive form of cancer. Meghan has been devoting her time to her father since his diagnosis.

“Meghan has been a valuable part of ‘Outnumbered’ and the Fox News team,” the network said in a statement. “We’re sad to see her go, but we wish her all the best.”
The McCain family has had an illustrious political career. Even if you don’t agree with the senator’s opinions, it’s hard not to respect him.
“The news of my father’s illness has affected every one of us in the McCain family. My grandmother, mother, brothers, sister and I have all endured the shock of the news, and now we live with the anxiety about what comes next,” Meghan wrote on Twitter after news broke of Sen. McCain’s diagnosis.
