Democrats must be desperate. Eric Holder, attorney general under Barack Obama, hinted that he’s planning a 2020 presidential run. Who thinks this is a good idea?
Holder plans to visit the New Hampshire Institute of Politics in June.
“The Politics & Eggs series is a forum for presidential candidates, political leaders, and other political analysts and commentators as they visit New Hampshire, home of the nation’s first presidential primaries,” reads a press release from the event.
Holder is still dancing around the subject with the press and refuses to admit openly that he’s going to run. He’s “considering” it, however.
“Yes, I’m thinking about it, but I’ve not made any determinations,” Holder said when asked directly if he plans to run.
In February, he explained he why he wanted to be president.
“Well, because I care a great deal about this country. I’ve spent the vast majority of my professional life in public service. I think I’ve got ideas that I hope would resonate with the American people. I think I’ve got the guts to potentially do the things that I think the next president would have to do,” Holder said.
This is not a time to be half-stepping; this is a time to deal with a changing America. An America that will be wounded by the experience that we are presently going through. So, it is all of those things. It doesn’t mean that ultimately, I’m going to do it. I’m certainly going to be involved in what happens in 2020.”
Blah, blah, blah. He’s obviously going to run and the oddest part of the story is that he may actually have a shot. He’s not particularly popular but no Democrat is right now. Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden have a following but they’re elderly men.
President Trump vs Eric Holder. It seems obvious who would win that match-up…
