Are you ready? Stormy Daniels’ interview with Anderson Cooper is set to air this Sunday. Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti is bouncing around TV shows trying to drum up interest.
Daniels has already shared this story. She did an interview years ago. The sordid details of her alleged fair with Donald Trump are already being trumpeted by mainstream media outlets. Why should people care if she speaks now?
“I think this is about engaging in thuggish behavior, threats, intimidation and hiding the money trail,” Avenatti said Thursday.
Daniels received $130,000 in “hush” money in 2016. Right now she’s scheming to get out of the nondisclosure agreement she signed at the time.
“The act of intimidation, the threats, putting her under their thumb continues to this very day… Now we have a sitting U.S. president, Chris, who is threatening to sue a private citizen for over $20 million for talking about their relationship,” Avenatti said.
“I don’t think it’s ever occurred in the history of the United States.”
Trump’s attempts to silence Daniels aren’t working. She’s milking her story for as much money as she can. A one-time payment of $130,000 is nice, but it’s nothing compared to the money she’s probably making now.
“I think ultimately… what this is going to get to, and ultimately we’re going to ensure that the facts are known to the American people,” Avenatti said. “And individuals who are far more powerful than me, far more powerful than my client, will ultimately determine whether those facts lead to something else, period.”
President Trump probably wishes the whole story would go away. It’s not the 90’s, people aren’t going to lampoon the president because he had an affair ten years ago. However, the scandal is still embarrassing.
Daniels’ interview with Cooper will air on ABC’s 60 Minutes this weekend.
