If there’s one thing that almost every woman wants, it’s to tweak her appearance in some way, and 9 times out of 10 that tweak would be size. In fact, one report estimates that Americans spend about 60 billion (that’s with a B) each year in efforts to lose weight.
That means that when a new weight loss gimmick surfaces that promises to make your weight loss dreams come true in a quick and painless way, it gets a lot of attention.
The women’s beauty magazine Cosmopolitan decided to try and cash in on that in a wildly inappropriate way.
What is this magical new trend?

Yep, not even joking.
To be fair to Cosmo, it’s a proven method that really works. The weight loss is dramatic and virtually guaranteed.
Cosmo deleted the tweet, but as you can see, not before the internet saved it for them.

When “gay hooters” thinks you’re over the line, chances are the line is so far behind you it’s just a dot.

They finally figured out this wasn’t going to work for them and tried to fix their mistake.

So, I’m not really sure if they’re recommending the cancer or just making the best out of a bad situation, but this piece was in bad taste either way. Hopefully, once cosmo wipes the mud off their face they’ll be able to see this for the public relations nightmare that the rest of us realize that it is.
Better luck next time guys, maybe try to not recommend contracting a life-threatening illness in order to slim down.
