The entire narrative around liberals speaking the truth while conservatives speak hate and falsehoods seems to be getting less and less true by the day.
Here’s something that you might want to share with everyone just to show that the liberals are truly the ones that have no idea what they are talking about.
Liberal Senator, and former Mayor of Newark, NJ, Cory Booker went on twitter and posted a quote from Benjamin Franklin, one of our founding fathers. The quote is as follows, unedited from Twitter.
"It is the first responsibility of every citizen to question authority."
Benjamin Franklin— Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) January 23, 2017
There’s only on problem with it. It’s likely fake news and there’s no proof Franklin ever said it. Oops. Pushing a liberal narrative Cory?
The Daily Caller News Foundation, which uncovered the fake quote, spoke with Franklin scholar and chair of Baylor University Department of Management Dr. Blaine McCormick. McCormick told the Daily Caller that the quote was indeed a “hoax.”
After explaining that the way the sentence is worded simply doesn’t reflect 18th-century language, McCormick also told the DCNF that the idea of questioning authority was not even a commonly-held belief in Franklin’s time.
“‘Questioning authority’ is a much more modern idea. Franklin was more into ‘rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God,’” McCormick said. “Whoever perpetrated this particular hoax would have helped themselves by at least penning, “Tis the first responsibility of every citizen to question authority” to Franklin instead.
So what happened when the Daily Caller called out Booker and his team for this?
The Daily Caller also reported that after sending an email to Booker’s office, they only received a “sarcastic reply” from Booker’s communications director Jeff Giertz. “As Ben Franklin may or may not have said, ‘to err is human; to forgive, divine.’”
A typical liberal response. Taking no responsibility and continuing to show that they aren’t in the wrong.
This is just more proof that you should never, EVER, take a liberal at their word. Actions speak louder and admitting this error would have gone over far better than this snarky, BS response.
Furthermore, the ideology that every citizen should question authority has led us to anti-Trump riots and Black Lives Matter domestic terrorism. And we all know how poorly that’s turned out.
Way to go Cory Booker! You’re a moron.
