I love when presenters get caught on camera actually speaking their mind, because it lets us know what they’re really thinking, as opposed to the narrative that they’re feeding us.
That’s why this story is so juicy and irresistible.
Chris Matthews, MSNBC host, is in hot water over remarks that were recorded on hot mic, meaning that the microphone that was supposed to be off, was left on, for the world to hear.
Matthews ogled Melania in a clip and remarked on her “runway walk”. You can hear the entire clip below, Matthews’ voice is heard underneath the main presenters’.
According to CNN Money,
Chris Matthews of MSNBC is in hot water after getting smooth busted on a hot microphone making comments about Donald Trump’s wife Melania. This isn’t the first time he’s made comments in regard to women’s appearance. money.cnn.com reports: “Did you see her walk? Runway walk. My God is that good,” Matthews could be heard saying as the Republican frontrunner’s wife walked onto the stage. “I could watch that runway show,” Matthews said.
Spokespeople for NBC News and MSNBC have yet to respond to requests for comment regarding the remark. Reached by email, a spokesperson for Melania Trump described her as “an accomplished businesswoman and entrepreneur in her own right,” and said it was “unfortunate to see the continuous inaccuracies and misrepresentations made by the media of Mrs. Trump as anything less than the independently successful woman that she is.” Matthews’ comment about Trump is the latest in a string of remarks the MSNBC host has made about women’s appearances over the years.
While this comment may be innocuous to some people, consider that liberals had attacked Trump for a long time for commenting on a woman’s appearance, both positively and negatively. When a news host talks about the future First lady in such a tone, it spells trouble.
But what do you think? Did Matthews go too far?
