Kris Paronto is one of the heroes of Benghazi, former Army Ranger, and unabashed patriot. He joined the “Fox & Friends” co-hosts to talk about Susan Rice’s unmasking scandal and what we should make of it. It wasn’t hard to decipher his meaning from his comments:
“She has no credibility, I don’t know how people continue to believe her. Double-talk, half-truths, that’s still lies,” Paronto said. “Within the veterans’ community, within Rangers, SEALs, Marines, there’s no such thing as a half-truth. It’s a lie [or] it’s not a lie.”
If that’s the standard that those in the armed forces hold themselves to, doesn’t it make sense that it’s the standard that those who are deciding their fate would be held to as well?Paronto believes that President Trump has a golden opportunity to put an end to this kind of activity if he cracks down and “makes an example” of Rice.
“President Trump’s been given an opportunity here to set a precedent and stop this.”
Could politics “play a role” in what happened? Of course it could have, and probably did. Wherever there are people, there will be a hierarchy and those who will try to get what they want, regardless of what is best for others. I think the point is that those in positions of power have to push that back, draw a line and refuse to cross it.
Unfortunately for our men and women in the military, the last 8 years have been an exercise in the rich and powerful seeing just how many lines they can cross and still stay out of prison. And to be honest, that’s not on Obama, that’s on us, we the people. This is still a democracy, and we elected these officials, we listened to the mainstream media and we looked the other way when the evidence said something was wrong. If you want to talk about the real inconvenient truth, it’s that when we point a finger at anyone put in power by our elected officials, we have 3 more fingers pointing back at ourselves.
