The stunning intellect that is Maxine Waters strikes again and this time, in a speech where she did her absolute best to connect with her younger constituents, she decided to both call herself “Aunt Maxine” and claim that she was once a millennial.
Literally, she actually said that. . .

It’s difficult to say what is actually going through the mind of any democratic politician, especially one that is such a great example of why this country needs term limits. However, one can probably assume that she is trying to say that she too was once young, which is absolutely correct. But a millennial — based on the two birth decades (1980s, 1990s) officially attributed to said generation — she is not.
In fact, according to the congresswoman’s official page, Waters began her thirteenth term in the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2014, but began her career as a representative in 1991. So unless Congress was employing infants and children back in the 90’s, representative Waters is far from a millennial.
To quote my friend Inigo Montoya:
“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
