15 days before Alabama’s special Senate race is decided, a new contender has thrown his hat into the ring. Retired Marine Col. Lee Busby announced Monday that he was launching a last-minute write-in campaign.
Alabama voters don’t have a lot of good options. The once sturdy Republican candidate, Roy Moore, is battling against a swath of sexual molestation allegation while Democrat Doug Jones espouses the politics typical of his party.
“I have no idea if the allegations against him (Moore) are true or not, but I don’t see anything within his experience as a judge that qualifies him for the job,” Col. Busby said.
“Alabama is not happy with the two choices we have down here. They are not appealing.”
It’s a longshot, but at least it gives Alabama a chance to come out of this mess. It’s horrifying to imagine a pedophile taking a seat in the Senate, but Jones’ policies would be bad for the countries. There are no more good options.
“The last thing we need in Alabama and the U.S. Senate is a Schumer/Pelosi puppet who is WEAK on Crime, WEAK on the Border, Bad for our Military and our great Vets, Bad for our 2nd Amendment, AND WANTS TO RAISES TAXES TO THE SKY. Jones would be a disaster!” President Trump tweeted.
Most of the country is disgusted with Moore. Jones is a more typical politician, but Alabama is a conservative state. Its voters won’t feel comfortable being represented by a Democrat.
