In the midst of a roiling, churning, white nationalist rally, a human connection was forged. An enraged skinhead thrust himself into a crowd of protesters where he was instantly set upon. People were so disgusted by his views that they began punching and shoving him like he was just a doll.
The skinhead, identified as Randy Furniss, was at risk of being seriously injured when a surprising person stepped in to help. A black man shoved himself in between Furniss and the raging crowd and asked for a hug.
“Give me a f’in hug… Why you don’t like me, bro? Huh? What is it? What is it?” Furniss’ rescuer asked.
When the pair finally hugged, the crowd erupted into cheers.
Unfortunately, the moment didn’t last. Someone took another swing at Furniss and the police were forced to escort him to safety.
Right before the attack, Furniss proudly described himself as a white nationalist.
“They want what we have… They’re being raised up and it’s getting to the point where they want to push us down. That’s not right,” he complained.
The rally, which occurred in Florida, was organized by loud-mouthed white supremacist Richard Spencer.
Locals were so disgusted by Spencer’s event that bars began advertising free beer in exchange for tickets.
Local bar Alligator Brewing wrote on social media:
“For every two tickets you bring in, we’ll trade you for a free Alligator Brewing draft beer.
Those tickets and reserved spots will be disposed of… We, unfortunately, can’t stop him from bringing his hate to Gainesville, but we can empty the room so his disgusting message goes unheard.
“This is our own. This is our community and this is how we’re going to shut. him. down.”
