In an interview with New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, the Today Show’s Matt Lauer did his best to throw a little shade at President Trump by pointing out that not all the Superbowl winning players would be going to the White House for the traditional meet and greet.
Lauer alluded to the possibility of it causing tension between the winning team and their owner. Kraft, who has a longstanding relationship with the President, took the intended insult in stride, putting the uninformed “news” anchor firmly in his place.
“Every time we’ve had the privilege of going to the White House, a dozen of our players don’t go,” Kraft said. “This is the first time it’s gotten any media attention.”
It’s kind of a long standing tradition that the rich guys know all the other rich guys, including Lauer himself(trust me he’s rich), and yet since one of the guys in their little social club decided to put himself in the spotlight and attract all kinds of possible harm to himself and his family, all of the sudden liberals everywhere think it’s ok to treat him like a turncoat.
I guess in a way he is a turncoat to the religion of the dollar. Trump decided to put his own personal attention to business aside and look out for the nation for a while, even declining to accept a salary.
It seems that the media and the hill don’t really know what to do with a man that they can’t bribe or sully with their usual tactics, but to try and use football? Come on, that’s just un-American.
