Sensational news out of the Trump camp today and it’s big, big, BIG!
Up until now, every single other candidate have had endorsements from political big wigs such as Senate delegates or House members. So far, Trump has zero.
That is, until today!
That’s right, Donald Trump has picked up his first endorsement from a member of Congress!
Republican U.S. Representative Chris Collins backed Donald Trump for his party’s presidential nomination on Wednesday, becoming the first sitting member of Congress to formally endorse the billionaire businessman.
Collins of New York had previously endorsed former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who dropped out of the race on Saturday.
“We need a president willing to make the tough decisions necessary to restore our country to greatness,” Collins said in a statement. “I believe Donald Trump is the man for the job, and I am proud to provide him with my support.” Adding, “Donald Trump has clearly demonstrated that he has both the guts and the fortitude to return our nation’s jobs.”
That is quite the switch-a-roo from Bush to Trump considering how much they fought in the debates. What happens now is anyone’s guess, but I’m thinking that this pushes him even further into the limelight.
This should cement his Republican nomination and more are bound to hop on board the Trump Train! What do you think? Let’s hear it in the comments!
