Critics Claim Latest “Roseanne” Episode Is Islamophobic, But She Has Perfect Response

That didn’t take long. Roseanne Barr is being attacked by the left again.

Tuesday night’s episode of Roseanne saw the character worrying about the Muslim neighbors next door. That’s all the fuel that was needed to spark a fire online. Angry liberals are accusing the comedic actress of being racist and Islamophobic.

Of course, if they’d actually watched the episode they would have noticed that the character is eventually chastised for her stereotypical views. The Muslim neighbors, it turns, are just like Roseanne’s.

“This is tired… Roseanne thinking her Muslim neighbors are terrorists isn’t funny. Not even for a second. Muslims deal with that bigotry on a daily basis. And it’s dangerous,” a Muslim activist tweeted.

“If we were really concerned with dispelling Muslim stereotypes, how about give a Muslim family their own show?”

A show about a Muslim family is a good idea. However, that has nothing to do with Roseanne. The angry left is trying to derail the conversation but it didn’t work. Roseanne’s defenders piped up after the episode as well.

“I just watched it. I laughed and was moved as well. I appreciate Roseanne’s recognition of rising Islamophobia in the US,” wrote Nihad Awad.

Some people in America hold negative views about Islam. Those views absolutely should be challenged. What liberals don’t realize is that’s exactly what the controversial Roseanne episode was trying to do.

“That’s what I do… Next season will be even more current events — I will challenge every sacred cow in USA,” Barr wrote.

“Tonight’s show is about the impact of legal and illegal immigration on our family.”

Legal immigration strengthens communities. That’s why the show made a point to demonstrate how welcoming and kind the new Muslim family was.

Illegal immigration is a different matter. The show also touched upon that, with one of the characters losing a job because the employer hired too many illegals.

Liberals should stop expecting Roseanne to be PC. It’s not going to happen.
