In case you missed it over the weekend, San Fransisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick did not stand for the national anthem during a preseason NFL game. One might think his reasoning for doing that would be due to an injury, but you’d be dead wrong.
Instead, he threw his hat in with Black Lives Matter and all the racists that think black Americans are oppressed by the country and its policies.
His direct quote? He said he’s, “not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color.” The mere thought of that is utterly laughable 1) because Kaepernick has no idea what he’s talking about and 2) the American flag represents the embodiment of the LEAST amount of oppression in the entire world.
There was a massive uproar over the past few days about his national anthem snub, but this one tweet pretty much knocked him out entirely, rendering his argument complete and utter bulls***.

Yes, you are seeing that correctly. That is a wounded marine, with no legs, bracing himself up while our national anthem plays so he can “stand” at attention out of respect. The tweet itself is particularly brutal towards Kaepernick because while him not standing is within his rights, this marine can’t stand at all because he defended the right for Kaepernick to do that, and we’re not the only ones saying that.

…this Marine is more of a man than #Colin_Kaepernick will ever be— dominic carrafiello (@DCarrafiello) August 27, 2016

And i'm a Canadian who stands respectfully for the US Anthem. Kaepernick is a disgrace.

@CrazyCatRescuer This Marine is standing tall in his mind. You can see it in his face. God bless him.

Some fans are going a bit further and burning his jersey and posting it on social media in protest:

Obviously, Colin is WAY out of line here. To say the American Flag represents black oppression means he has no idea what black oppression is at all. To sit for the national anthem is disrespectful for not only our troops, but also for all black Americans that died fighting for future generations to have it better than then did.
I’m glad Kaepernick is going through the ringer on this one. He deserves it and should be fined for his actions.
